Description
The civic garden walls and lamp piers are located on the western elevation of Hackney Town Hall. They feature a rectangular paved area with two D-shaped low Portland stone boundary walls that define formal gardens. The straight sides of these walls create a pedestrian route leading to the main hall entrance, and there are recesses for seats along this path. At the outer curves of the walls, there are four inset stone piers with stepped tops, each topped with rectangular bronze Art Deco lanterns. These walls and lamp piers are part of a group with Hackney Town Hall.
