Civic garden walls and lamp piers fronting western elevation of Hackney Town Hall (qv). Rectangular paved area set with 2 D- shaped low portland stone boundary walls to formal gardens, their straight sides forming a pedestrian route, with recesses for seats, to the main hall entrance; 4 inset stone piers, at outer curves, with stepped tops surmounted by rectangular bronze Art Deco Lanterns. The Civic Gardens walls and lamp piers form a group with Hackney Town Hall (qv).
