Description
The Cubs is an 18th-century building located at the north-western end of the Menageric Pond in Hackwood Park. It consists of a pair of small square pavilions, each featuring interior seats on either side of an open throughway. The sides of the pavilions are made of painted brick, while each end is constructed of wood and includes an arched opening. This opening is adorned with coupled pilasters in a fully moulded Doric Order, which support a steep pediment that forms the gable of a slate roof. The archway is detailed with a moulded architrave and a keystone.
