Description
Nos 20 to 54 on Cassland Road, built in the early 19th century, form a symmetrical terrace of houses, each with three storeys and a basement, featuring three windows. A central pedimented feature spans two houses and is adorned with garlands and a coat of arms. The buildings are constructed of stock brick, with a stone cornice and stone parapet coping. The house at the east end has a raised slated mansard roof with a dormer. There is a cill band on the first floor, and the sash windows, which have glazing bars, are topped with gauged flat brick arches. The first-floor windows are long and have ornamental cast iron balconies. Access to the doors, which have six flat panels, a cornice head, and a radial fanlight, is via five steps that feature cast iron handrails. This terrace has group value.
