Description

This is a terrace of nine houses located on the south side of New Kent Road, dating from the late 18th century. The houses are built of multi-coloured stock brick with slate roofs, featuring a mansard roof with dormers concealed behind a parapet. Each house has three storeys, an attic, and a basement, with three bays. The timber doorcases are distinguished by attached columns and foliage capitals, supporting an entablature, with medallions, and a dentil cornice, extending over recessed, round-headed doorways. These doorways have panelled reveals and cornice heads. Fanlights are present in the doorcases of numbers 154, 158-162, and 170. The doorcases to numbers 164-168 are missing. Gauged flat brick arches frame the sash windows, with those in numbers 156-162 and 170 featuring glazing bars. Some lead rainwater heads are also present. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
