Description

Hampden Chapel TQ 3584 26/320 II
2. 1847, dated and named on panel below 1st floor centre window. 2-storey, 3-bay end of classical chapel faces road. Stucco with incised lines. Projecting cornice and blocking course with urn finials at angles. Ground floor banded rustication. Slightly projecting centre section has ground floor defined by wide flat pilasters, 1st floor by paired Doric pilasters supporting entablature and pediment. 1st floor central. Venetian window and side round-arched windows with moulded architraves, as have ground floor windows and central modernised door under console bracketed cornice. 5-bay arcaded returns of stock brick with stuccoed 1st floor band.
