Description
The drinking fountain at West End Green, located at the junction with Mill Lane and West End Lane, is a notable structure made of grey granite. It features a round, moulded base that includes a dog trough on one side, supporting a round basin. Above this, there is a square middle stage adorned with trefoil-headed mouldings on each side, which hold replacement spouts. At the top, an obelisk with chamfered angles rises above the moulding. The fountain is set on an octagonal granite base, accompanied by two York stone blocks. An inscription on the base reads, "Presented by Miss Miles / in memory of her mother / who lived in West End 76 years / 1897."
