Description
The tomb of John Jeffkins, located in Highgate (Western) Cemetery, is a gabled chest tomb dating from around 1861. It is constructed of stone and designed in the Gothic style. The tomb has a rectangular plan with gabled ends. The long sides feature pointed arch blind arcading supported by colonnettes with enriched capitals, and there is an enriched cornice. The gable end includes a shallow pointed arch inscribed recess, above which is a carved relief chaplet. The stone pitched roof is ridged to resemble lead.
