Description

No. 20 Rosecroft Avenue is a detached house built in 1898 by CHB Quennell for Horace Regnart, constructed by Boddy & Chapman. The house is made of red brick, featuring brick quoins at the corners of the central bay and a plain brick band at the first floor. It has hipped roofs covered with slate, with each bay containing a dormer, tall slab chimney-stacks, and overhanging bracketed eaves with a moulded cornice. The design is symmetrical, comprising two storeys and attics, with five windows in total. The central entrance bay on the ground floor is recessed and forms a porch supported by two columns that carry an entablature with a blocking course. The entrance features a panelled door flanked by ladder-glazed sidelights and an overlight. The first floor has flush framed sash windows with exposed boxing and gauged brick heads, while the flanking projecting bays also have similar sashes, with keystones on the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected.
