Description

Numbers 1-17 and attached railings form a terrace of nine houses built around 1850 by J Burden in Camden. The houses are constructed of stucco, with rusticated stucco detailing to the ground floors. They are three storeys high with basements, and generally have two windows per house, with numbers 5 and 11 having one window each, and number 17, three. Each house has a pedimented, prostyle portico featuring pilasters at the angles, a round-arched entrance, and round-arched side openings. The doorways have cornice heads, fanlights, and panelled doors. The windows are recessed sashes; some ground-floor windows have window guards, and the second-floor windows are architraved. First-floor windows are architraved casements with console-bracketed pediments (segmental at numbers 5 and 11) and cast-iron balconies. The houses have a cornice and blocking course. The interiors have not been inspected. Attached cast-iron railings are present to the areas.
