Description
No. 38 Great Queen Street is a terraced house dating from the early 18th century, which was refronted in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of brown brick with stone dressings and bands, standing four storeys tall with a basement and featuring three windows. The wooden shopfront has a splayed window and an entablature, which is flanked by enriched consoles. The windows are segmental arched, recessed sash types with enriched heads, and there is a cornice supported by console brackets. Inside, the first floor includes well-preserved panelled rooms, with the front room featuring an original pilastered fireplace flanked by cupboards that have panelled doors, one of which has H hinges, and a modillion cornice.
