Description
Numbers 17 and 17A are terraced houses located on Pond Street, built around 1740 for E Snoxall, with alterations likely made in the early 19th century. The buildings are finished in stucco, with No. 17A featuring an old tiled roof and dormers. No. 17A has three storeys, a basement, and an attic, with a square-headed doorway that includes an overlight and a panelled door. The windows are recessed sashes, with architraves on the ground and first floors, and there is a parapet above. No. 17 has a two-storey gabled extension with a chimney that rises through the gable apex and one window. Its doorcase has an architraved, eared surround and a dentil cornice, with an architraved sash window. The interiors have not been inspected. The properties are complemented by attached cast-iron railings with foliated finials on low walls.
