Description
No. 59 Lamb's Conduit Street is a terraced house with a later shop, built in 1702 or 1703 and refronted in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of yellow stock brick and has four storeys plus a basement, featuring two windows. The late 19th-century wooden shopfront includes elaborate consoles and a cornice, while the fascia and shop window were updated in the 20th century. The house has a square-headed 20th-century doorway, and the windows are fitted with gauged brick flat arches above recessed two-pane sashes, with the first floor in shallow, round-headed recesses linked by impost bands. A stucco cornice is present at the third-floor level, and there is a parapet above.
Inside, the property retains original features such as timber panelling, box cornices, and an original staircase with barley-sugar twist balusters and column newel posts.
