Description

This is a terrace of seven houses, numbers 39 to 51, dating from the 1840s and located on the southwest side of Arlington Road in Camden. The houses are constructed of stock brick with rendered ground floors, basements, and parapets; numbers 39 and 41 are distinguished by pilaster strips between them. They have slate roofs with party wall stacks. Each house is two windows wide, with a front door to the left, and extends over three storeys plus attics. All the windows are 12-light sash windows with glazing bars, set within moulded architrave surrounds. The first-floor windows have cast-iron balcony fronts. The panelled front doors are set within moulded doorcases, each with a square toplight; the doors to numbers 39, 41, and 51 have tracery, while those to numbers 47 and 49 have semi-circular toplights, with tracery to number 49. A raised attic storey, dating from the late 20th century and of no particular architectural interest, is present on numbers 47, 49, and 51. The interiors remain unexamined. The houses are accompanied by area railings featuring spearhead finials.
