Description
North Road Bridge over the Grand Union Canal is a public road bridge built around 1816 to 1820, with later alterations. It is constructed of brick and stone and features a single elliptical arch. The bridge has a brick band, solid parapets, and piers, topped with stone coping. In the late 19th century, the bridge deck was strengthened by the addition of cast-iron girders. A steel staircase was added in the 20th century, interrupting the west parapet.
