Description
This is a terrace of three houses located on Gloucester Crescent, built in the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick, with the central bays featuring a channelled stucco ground floor. Stucco quoins are present on the outer bays, and there’s a stucco sill band to the first floor. The roofs are shallow hipped, with projecting eaves and brick chimney stacks, which have dentil cornices.
The terrace is three storeys high, with basements below. It has a six-window range, plus a single recessed entrance bay to number 70. The design is symmetrical, with projecting end bays. Numbers 68 and 69 have plain entrances with part-glazed panelled doors and overlights, positioned next to the projecting bays. Number 70’s entrance is round-arched and architraved, with a panelled door and fanlight, set within a recessed bay. All windows are architraved sashes; those in the projecting ground floor bays have cornices, while the first-floor windows also have pediments. Cast-iron balconies run continuously to the four-centre windows of the first floor sashes. The interiors have not been inspected.
