Description

A pair of semi-detached houses built in the mid-19th century, located on Gloucester Crescent. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick with grey brick banding, window arches, and continuous sill bands. They have shallow hipped slate roofs and tall brick chimney stacks featuring brick dentil cornices. The buildings are three storeys high with semi-basements, and each features two windows plus a recessed entrance bay with one window. The entrances have panelled doors with overlights. Number 63 has a porch with a Classical dentil cornice supported by three gothic columns with trefoil spandrels, and a cast and enriched wrought-iron balcony. Gauged brick flat arches frame the recessed four-pane sash windows, which are chamfered at the top angles and mostly have cast and wrought-iron window guards. A blind brick balustrade with openwork crosses and a dentil cornice is above the ground-floor entrance bay window of number 63. First-floor windows have bracketed balconies with enriched cast and wrought-iron bowed railings. A stepped brick dentil eaves cornice runs along the top of the buildings. The interiors have not been inspected.
