Description

Gloucester Gate Lodge is a lodge house dating to around 1830, and subsequently altered. It is constructed of rusticated stucco with slate roofs. The building has a single storey and two windows on its main facade, with a single window on the left-hand return. The garden front features an entrance portico. The main facade has a narrow, recessed central bay containing a shallow round-arched niche, flanked by bays with single round-arched sash windows. A Doric mutule entablature runs around the entire building, surmounted by pediments. A rectangular chimney stack and chimney pots are positioned between the pediments. The interior was not inspected during the listing assessment. Historically, the lodge’s two bays originally flanked the entrance screen, which formed the East Gate to Regent’s Park.
