Description

Numbers 213, 215, and 217 Albany Street are a group of three houses built around 1830 to 1840. They are constructed of stucco and extend over three storeys, plus basements. Each house has two windows. The doorways are square-headed, flanked by pilasters, and have a continuous entablature running across the terrace at first floor level. Above the doorways are rectangular fanlights with margin glazing, and the doorways are fitted with panelled doors. The ground floor of each house features two canted bay windows, separated by bays with recessed panels. The upper floors have architraved sash windows; the second-floor windows feature lugs beneath the sills. Pilasters with Greek fret decoration rise from the first floor to support a cornice and blocking course which projects forward over the pilasters. The interiors were not inspected. Attached cast-iron railings with spearhead finials run along the front of the properties.
