Description

Rutters and the former Museum is an office building that dates back to the 17th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The structure has one and a half storeys plus attics and is constructed with a timber frame that is rendered. It features a plaintiled roof, which includes segmental-headed dormers and an axial chimney made of red and gault brick. The building has various windows from the 19th and 20th centuries. The entrance to the museum, which is early 19th century, has a moulded pediment supported by console brackets and a half-glazed panelled door. There is also a 20th-century glazed door leading to the office.
