Description

No 75 High Street is a shop that was formerly known as The Star Public House. It dates from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the mid 19th century and mid 20th century. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring four windows. Its walls are rendered, topped with a 19th-century parapet and a dentil cornice. The roof is plaintiled and includes flat-headed dormers, along with late 17th-century chimneys made of gault brick. The mid 19th-century sash windows have segmental arched heads and hood-moulds supported by console brackets. The mid 20th-century shop front includes a carriage entrance on the left. At the rear, there is an 18th-century wing facing Sun Lane, which has a slated gambrel roof.
