Description
Old Shop Cottage, formerly known as The Old Shop House, is a house and former shop dating from the late 17th century. It features a three-cell, lobby-entrance plan and stands at one and a half storeys with attics. The building is constructed with a timber frame and is finished with pebble-dash rendering. The roof is covered with double Roman tiles, hipped at the right-hand end, and includes a gabled casement dormer with undulating bargeboards. There is an axial chimney made of red brick. The cottage has 19th-century two-light windows with wrought-iron small-pane casements, and the entrance door is panelled, set beneath an open porch with a hipped roof supported by slender posts.
