Description
Speeds Farmhouse is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the 15th or early 16th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The building has one and a half storeys and attics, constructed from timber framing and rough-cast render. It features a Roman pantiled roof with gabled pantiled casement dormers and an axial chimney from the 17th century made of rendered brickwork. The mid-19th century windows are three-light casements, and there is a 20th-century glazed panelled entrance door. The farmhouse was extended by one cell at the north end in the 19th century, which added a two-storey section that is also timber-framed and rendered. It is said to be an open hall house with a crown-post roof.
