Description
Church Farmhouse is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the early 17th century. It has one and a half storeys and attics, featuring a three-cell, lobby-entrance plan, along with a later 17th-century one-storey service wing. The building is timber-framed and rendered, topped with thatched roofs that include eyebrow casement dormers. There are 17th-century axial chimneys made of red brick, with their caps rebuilt in the mid-20th century. The windows are mainly 20th-century casements, although there is an 18th-century leaded casement in the parlour. The entrance porch, added in the 20th century, is pantiled and has a boarded door. Inside, the farmhouse retains complete unmoulded timber-framing and open fireplaces.
