Description
The Royal Bank of Scotland is a shop and house that now serves as bank premises. The building features an early 19th-century front that was modernized in the 1980s, with parts of the rear dating back to the late 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and rendered exterior, topped with slate roofs.
The building stands three storeys high and includes cellars. The front has a four-window range, with 12-pane sash windows on the first storey and 9-pane sash windows on the second, all set in moulded flush cased frames. The ground storey features a double shop front with a central entrance door, which was altered in the 1980s. This area is decorated with pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice that includes six ornate console brackets from the 19th century. There is another entrance door on the far left that is structurally part of No. 89.
The extensive cellars do not contain any visible features of interest.
