Description
The gates and gatepiers, located about 40 metres east of the Rous Memorial Hospital, were constructed around 1878. They provide an entrance from Vicarage Road to the garden that is enclosed by the Rous Memorial Cottages on three sides. The gatepiers are square and made of red brick, featuring a cornice of moulded brick and topped with ball-finials made of sandstone. The entrance includes a pair of wrought iron gates adorned with scroll ornamentation. These gates and gatepiers are included for their group value.
