Description
Tan Office Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century. It features a hall and a cross-wing with a cross-passage entry. The building has two storeys and attics, with two windows. It is timber-framed and rendered, and the gabled cross-wing has a jettied upper floor. The roof is plaintiled and includes a gable chimney for the hall. The windows and entrance door are 20th century casements. The cross-wing, which dates from the early or mid-16th century, has close studding and blocked diamond mullioned windows. The hall was rebuilt in the mid or late 16th century and consists of two unequal bays, with an internal one-flue chimney at the upper end featuring a cambered lintel above a wide fireplace.
