Description

Dodds Cottage, formerly known as Vine Cottage, is a house that was originally a farmhouse, dating from the mid-16th century. It has two storeys and features a three-cell cross-passage entrance plan. The building is constructed with a timber frame and is rendered. It has a thatched roof that is ripped, along with an axial chimney made of red brick. The cottage includes 19th-century three-light casement windows and a 20th-century entrance door that is boarded and battened. There is a single-flue chimney that heats only the hall. The cottage displays good unmoulded framing, and some diamond-mullioned windows are exposed internally.
