Description
The Old Green Man is a former public house dating from the 16th century, with extensions from the 17th and 18th centuries, and was modernised in the 1960s. It has an L-shaped form and is 1½ storeys high. The building is timber-framed and rendered, topped with a pantiled roof, featuring one internal and one end chimney-stack. The windows and door are mid-20th century casements, and there are three gabled dormers. At the south end, there are three bays from the 16th century, with visible framing inside and three blocked original windows that have diamond mullions. The central section was raised in the 18th century, and there is an 18th-century cross-wing at the north end, which was originally a single-storey structure that may have served as a barn.
