Description

Hillfield Cottage is a cottage, likely a remnant of a larger house, dating from the early 17th century, with an older core. It has one storey and an attic, featuring three bays. The structure is timber-framed and rendered, topped with a thatched roof and an end chimney stack. The cottage has 20th-century casement windows, with two-light and three-light configurations. The entrance door is located at the rear and is also from the 20th century. Inside, the cottage showcases some very heavy timbering, indicating its medieval origins and later alterations, including a doubled wall-plate.
