Description
The precinct wall of the former vineyard along the north side of Kevelaer Way in Bury St Edmunds is a boundary wall measuring 125 meters long. It dates back to the 12th century and is constructed from rubble flint, with some sections being partly coursed. At the western end of the wall, there are remains of a high entrance doorway featuring moulded stone jambs and the springings of a sharply angled arched head. This structure is recognized as a Scheduled Ancient Monument and has retained much of its original height in parts.
