Description
Netheridge is a 15th-century timber-framed and plastered house that has undergone alterations and additions in the 16th and 17th centuries. It is positioned at right angles to the street, featuring two gabled wings at the north-east end, one of which was added in the 17th century, while the other has 20th-century pargetting that has been renewed in the old pattern. The block facing the street on the south-west side was rebuilt in the 20th century. The north-east end displays exposed close spaced studding. The windows are primarily mullioned casements, with some featuring old lattice leaded lights. The roofs are tiled, and there is an impressive crown post roof structure. Netheridge is part of a group of listed buildings that includes No 11, Nos 13 to 15 (consecutive), Nos 17, 18, the Rose & Crown Public House, Nos 20, 22, Orchard House, and Nos 23 to 26 (consecutive) on the south-east side.
