Description

This is a 16th-century barn located 10 metres north of Martins in Whepstead. It originally had three bays but was part of a longer structure. The barn is timber-framed and weather-boarded, featuring a thatched roof that is hipped at the south end. The walls are close-studded with tension-bracing, and it has a clasped purlin roof. The building was truncated in the 19th century, and it originally had at least one, and probably two, additional bays at the north end. This barn is included for its group value.
