Description
57 Churchgate Street is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of white brick, painted on the ground floor, and features a slate roof with a wooden eaves cornice. The building has three storeys and cellars, with a three-window range; however, the central window on the second storey is blocked. All windows are small-paned sashes set in plain reveals. A raised stucco band runs along the first storey at window-sill level. The entrance consists of a six-panel door in plain reveals, topped by a semicircular fanlight with radial glazing bars. There is a 20th-century extension at the rear. The interior does not contain any features from before the early 19th century.
