Description
The Hill House is a house dating from the early 19th century, featuring three storeys and a basement. It is constructed of white brick with a slate roof, and the sides and rear are plastered. The building has an end chimney stack with a plain shaft and a coved cornice. Each storey has three small-paned sash windows with deep reveals, flat arches, and painted keystones. The ground storey windows are set into shallow segmental-arched recesses, while the two upper storeys include a blocked window on the left above the entrance. The front door has six raised fielded panels and is sheltered by a portico supported by square fluted columns and pilasters, topped with a paired modillion cornice. In front of the house, there is a row of low ornamental wrought-iron railings, divided by three main columns, extending from the portico to the opposite corner.
