Description
This is a late 16th-century house, originally built as three rooms and later divided into two separate dwellings. It has a timber frame concealed by a mid-19th century red brick facade, with a plaintiled roof. The brickwork features a moulded cornice. The front of the building has three windows: large-paned sash windows with reduced side panels on the upper floor, alternating with two slightly recessed blank panels. On the ground floor are two similar sash windows with wedge lintels, alongside a 20th-century window and a 6-panelled door which replaced a former shop window and entrance on the left side. Inside, the ceilings of two ground-floor rooms display original, plain ceiling beams and joists. One ceiling shows evidence of an original and later stair trap, both of which are now blocked. No other timber framing is visible.
