Description
27 High Street is an early 19th-century building that features a timber frame and plaster exterior. It has one storey and a six-window range, with double-hung sash windows that include glazing bars in flush cased frames. The entrance is marked by a Roman Doric portico supported by plain columns, which is adorned with a triglyph frieze and cornice. The roof is slate and gabled at both the north and south ends. At the rear, there is a 20th-century addition. This building, along with No 26 (The Ancient House), No 15 (The Vicarage), the wall to the Vicarage, No 16 (Galloway House) on the west side, and the Church of SS Peter and Paul, forms a cohesive group.
