Description

16 Market Hill is a late 16th century or early 17th century timber-framed and plastered house. It likely incorporated the adjoining house to the north (No 15). No 16 was probably the crosswing of the original house, which was altered and divided in the early 19th century. The building has two storeys and features one window range with double-hung sashes that have glazing bars in flush cased frames. The doorway includes a rectangular fanlight, pilasters, and a cornice hood. The roof is slate and hipped at the front. All the listed buildings in Market Hill, along with those in Church Street, Station Road, and Well Lane, form a group.
