Description
This listing describes a group of three monuments located in the Great Churchyard of Bury St Edmunds.
The first monument, MON. 178, is a square pedestal tomb made of Portland stone, dating from 1822. It commemorates Mary, the wife of Robert Nunn, who died in 1846, Robert Nunn himself, who passed away in 1865, and five of their children who died in infancy.
The second monument, MON. 179, is a flat coffin stone with a plain head and foot, dating from 1834. It is dedicated to John Twinn and Catherine Twinn, who died in 1844.
The third monument, MON. 197, is a headstone made of York stone, dating from 1837. It is inscribed with the name "James Thomson, Painter of Haddington in East Lothian (Britain)."
This group of monuments is of group value within the churchyard.
