Description

There are two churchyard monuments located in the Great Churchyard of Bury St Edmunds. The first monument, designated as MON 31, is a flat coffin stone accompanied by head and footstones, possibly from the 18th century, made of Ketton stone. It features an elaborate headstone with a skull above a Coat of Arms, flanked by full-length weeping cherubs on either side, and a winged angel head on the footstone. The second monument, MON 34, is a headstone from the early 19th century. This square headstone displays a skull over crossed branches, with winged angel heads positioned in each corner.
