Description
No. 115 on High Street is a house that likely dates from the early to mid-16th century. It has two storeys and two windows, featuring a timber-framed and plastered structure. The upper storey displays attractive pargetting with large panels framed by bold bolection mouldings. In the center, there is a cartouche bearing the initials A over S.M. and the date 1718. The ground storey has similar panels that were restored around 1980. The upper storey was likely originally built with a long-wall jetty extending towards the street, which was later made flush around 1718. The house has 19th and 20th-century sash windows with large panes, as well as a six-panelled entrance door topped by an oblong fanlight. Inside, there are exposed moulded ceiling joists from the early or mid-16th century.
