Description

This is a house, likely dating from the late 16th or early 17th century, situated on High Street in Needham Market. Originally a single structure, it was divided into two tenements in the 19th century and later reunited in the 20th century. The building is two stories high with four windows. It is timber-framed and covered with roughcast rendering. The roof is slate-covered, featuring a crested ridge tile and an axial chimney built in the mid to late 19th century using red brick. The windows are small-pane sashes, and the majority have a raised, smooth plaster border with simple "ear and shoulder" decoration. The entrance features 19th-century four-panelled doors. The interior is believed to contain good examples of exposed timber framing, although it has not been inspected.
