Description

Deerbolts Hall is a former manor house dating from the early 18th century, with remodelling from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick with burnt headers and features a band at the first and second floors. It has a symmetrical three-bay façade, with the central bays having four flat stuccoed pilasters that support a large cornice and pediment, which are part of the early 19th-century remodelling. The roof is hipped and slated, also from the early 19th century, with deep eaves that have paired modillions. There are axial chimneys made of red brick, and the house stands three storeys tall.

The windows are primarily early 19th-century small-pane sashes, with 18th-century windows featuring flat arches of gauged brick. The three central bays include pairs of 19th-century French windows, and there is another pair at the centre of the first storey, which opens onto a balcony. The entrance door, which is from the 19th century, is located in one of the two rear extensions that have flat roofs and parapets. These parapets are adorned with open balustrading featuring turned balusters and urn finials. The entrance itself consists of a six-panelled door with an oblong fanlight and a flat-roofed canopy supported by console brackets and iron columns.

To the east, there is a full-width early 19th-century terrace with open balustrading, which is accessed by a flight of five limestone steps. Deerbolts Hall was the seat of the Driver and Grey families.
