Description

Green Farmhouse is a former 17th-century farmhouse located on The Green in Woolpit. It has two storeys and originally followed a three-cell lobby-entrance plan. The building is timber-framed and now has plastered walls. The roof is covered with concrete plain tiles, although it was formerly thatched. A central 17th-century chimney constructed of red brick is present, with the shaft having been rebuilt in the 19th or 20th century. Casement windows were added in 1986, and a 17th-century four-light mullioned window has been exposed and fitted with glazing. A doorway at the lobby-entrance position was temporarily blocked during major alterations to the building at the time of survey.
