Description

Abbey Farm Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century or earlier. It is a two-story building with a lobby-entrance plan, originally consisting of two rooms. The house has a timber frame with plastered walls and a thatched roof. The chimney is situated along the central axis and was rebuilt in the 19th century using red brick. The left-hand gable reveals evidence of reversed-assembly during a previous repair or reconstruction. The windows are predominantly 3-light casements dating from the 18th or early 19th century. A mid-20th century thatched gabled porch, fully glazed, has been added to the entrance, featuring a half-glazed panelled door. The interior has not been inspected.
