Description
This is an early to mid 17th-century house, likely with medieval origins. It is a timber-framed building, now rendered with textured plasterwork and covered by a thatched roof. The house has one-and-a-half storeys and a two-cell layout with two small 20th-century windows featuring small panes. A small, gabled porch with a boarded door was added in the mid 20th century to the right side. There are two gabled dormers. The house contains an internal stack with a small, plain shaft. Single-storey additions were built in the 20th century to the right gable end and the rear. The timber frame incorporates many reused medieval components, including a tie beam with mortices for a crown-post and long arched braces, which are mostly visible in the upper rooms. The left-hand ground floor room has a large open fireplace with an original lintol. The roof is intact and likely of a coupled-rafter or common-rafter form, though it has not been fully examined.
