Description

The Old Manse is a house, likely dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. A rear range was added in 1865. The house is timber-framed, with the ground floor now colourwashed brick and the remainder roughcast-rendered. The roof is plain-tiled to the front and pantiled to the rear, with ridge tiles. It is a two-storey, three-cell building with a lobby entrance plan. There are three windows, which are casements without glazing bars, mainly dating from the 18th to 19th centuries. Two doorways have 19th-century four-panel doors and timber trellis porches. An internal stack and a gable stack to the left have been Victorianised. The original timbers are concealed inside. A 19th-century staircase is located in the rear addition. The Manse, an adjacent property, is not included in this listing.
