Description

MENDHAM MUNDY'S ROAD TM 28 SE 2/63 Mundy's Farmhouse - -- II

Farmhouse. Early C16 with later alterations. Timber framed and plastered; the right hand gable end is faced in colourwashed brick. Thatched roof, hipped over the left hand (service) end. 2 storeys. Various casement windows; some reproduction mullioned windows to the front. 3 original diamond-mullioned windows to rear at first floor level; another is visible internally on the ground floor. Half-glazed entrance door within simple gabled porch. Internal axial stack. Evidence for cross-passage in hall, with renewed arched heads to former doorways. There is a queen-post roof over the hall and service end. The stack is a later insertion. The portion of the house beyond the stack has been altered and appears to have an inserted floor.
