Description

The Coach House, located on Park Lane in Eye, is an early 19th-century stable building that was altered and restored in 1993-94 by Peter Cleverley. Constructed of red brick, it features a roof made of black-glazed pantiles and is designed in a U-shaped block with an open courtyard facing the main house. The building is two storeys tall, with a central recessed block that includes a doorway topped by a seven-vaned radial fanlight. There are two two-light casement windows on either side of the central block, which previously had lunette Y-traceried heads. The first floor has two Y-traceried lunette windows that were renewed in 1994.

Each flanking wing has a carriage doorway with segmental heads, accompanied by round-headed pedestrian doorways on either side. Most doorways, including the west carriageway, are blocked, except for the western pedestrian doorway of the west wing, which leads to a single-storey 19th-century utility range that extends towards the house. The west return features a late 20th-century French window beneath a Gothick arched head, along with three Y-traceried lunette windows on the first floor, also renewed in the late 20th century. The building is shown on the Ordnance Survey map as Park Farm.
