Description

The Homestead is a house dating to the later 17th century, with a large rear wing added in 1971 that incorporates older elements. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered walls, covered by a thatched roof. The house has one and a half storeys and a three-cell layout, characteristic of a lobby entry plan. It has three windows, which are 20th-century 3-light casements. A 20th-century thatched gabled porch with a boarded door sits at the front, and there are three gabled dormers. Inside the house is a tall, oblong 17th-century stack, and an 18th-century stack is located against the rear of the right gable end. The interior has been significantly altered, but original features include plain joists and studding.
