Description
Little Thatch is a pair of cottages, originally one dwelling, dating from the 15th or early 16th century, with significant later alterations. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof, and has one and a half storeys. The cottages feature 20th century casement windows. Little Thatch includes a 19th century enclosed wooden porch with a four-centre arched entrance and a boarded door. No. 4 has a mid-20th century gabled porch and a boarded door, along with three gabled dormers and small gable stacks. No. 4 is part of an open hall house with a queen-post roof; some original features, including the open truss, remain intact, although much of the structure has been altered or concealed. The structure of Little Thatch is entirely concealed. At the time of the survey in May 1986, No. 4 was undergoing renovation.
